Fish Market Art Installation
For this art festival booth installation, I wanted to combine my background in fine art and fashion to create a high end fish market. I started with the hand made fish ornaments hanging in the net, and each one is made out of recycled materials from my time working in NYC's fashion industry. There is so much textile waste that ends up in landfills and oceans, so I try to upcycle and use zero waste techniques when I can! The rest of the installation is made up of artwork I have done: Fashion illustrations inspired by sea creatures, busts painted on recycled wooden boards, and an almost life size mermaid mixed media painting that utilizes recycled fabric and beads. I have also had some of my paintings printed on fabric that I stitched and stuffed for keychains, dolls, and ornaments. The three nude canvases with abstract metal bits are a zero waste application of the pieces of metal waste from making the large mermaid tail and the "mermaid lingerie" ornaments.

Art Gallery Wedding
The original inspiration for this wedding was art, and specifically Monet, as his florals translate well to a floral theme. My husband does abstract art, so we partnered to combine his abstract backgrounds with my more realistic foregrounds, starting with the aisle runner in a large framed backdrop. I also decorated the stairs with paper flowers and fabric to match. We included what I'm calling "modern still lifes" featuring statues, flowers, and fruit on the gallery walls. Dinner also featured the same theme, and I set the tables and flower arrangements with a mix of thrifted items to give the art gallery a modern twist on a Renaissance feast!

Christmas Decor
I agree with the sentiment that it is the most wonderful time of the year... to decorate! I love the glitter and opulence of twinkling lights and vintage ornaments. I love decorating for clients, and I am more often than not talked into decorating everyone in my family's trees as well! These are a few of my favorites below. The first is a nine foot tree with a matching banister. The second was a red flocked tree which was difficult because they had large ornaments and a very skinny tree, but I love how it turned out! Then I have a tree I made completely out of cut up magazine snow flakes for a fashion company's office. Following that is a vintage inspired snowy fireplace theme. Lastly, a pink Christmas party I was asked to decorate and cater for a PTA Christmas meeting.

Digital Interiors
I am a maximalist and definitely design that way! I love mixing patterns and layering textures to give a very expensive and collected feeling. I love mixing high end with low end and working with clients of different design tastes. I am comfortable working with minimalists as well, and never have trouble finding ways to make minimal feel really layered without adding too many pieces. After a decade in NYC's fashion industry, I can utilize my knowledge of fabrics and color stories to enhance your home!
